You know those times in life when it feels as though the attacks keep coming?
Death comes suddenly. Marriage problems seem unbearable. You are raising kids and suddenly you are caring for a disabled or ill parent. You feel as if you failed when your teens make bad decisions. The retirement fund you saved for 20 years is now gone. The way you planned your life has been changed, dreams shattered. Whatever it may be, life can be overwhelming.
Journaling Has helped me to process with the Lord. I can cry out to him. I can put it all down on paper before the Him. I invite Him to sit with me in my quiet mornings. I envision Him with me. Sometimes he strokes my hair, and says
“Its ok Dani, you are amazing. I am here with you”.
He gives me joy. He gives me a strength. Strength, that I have never experienced before. I have a calm peace even in the biggest storm.
In the last six years, I have had some really challenging and heart crushing times. Times where the anxiety was almost unbearable. When I would wake up in the morning and the realities were in my face, I would realize it wasn’t just a bad dream. It was my life.
I have been hurt by people in my life. I knew I had a choice of how to deal with them. I asked God to let me see the situation with forgiveness and compassion. To see them for who they really were created to be. Not for their choices, not for what they did in their own pain.
I was wounded over and over, yet somehow the love in me was greater than any pain. The Joy of the Lord truly was my strength. He set me free. He showed me who I really was created to be. I am an overcomer; I can instill hope in those who are hopeless. I can forgive and love others through Him. Not in my own strength, but in His.
If you are struggling in your marriage, parenting or any other relationships, try to understand that hurt people hurt people. Allow others the grace of working through their own hurts. Hurts that may have been caused long ago, even in childhood.
We all have issues, habits and hang ups. There is always a root to it. Work on your roots, your hurts, allow your loved ones to see your process. Understand your true identity. Ask God who He created you to be. Listen to His voice, He will always speak truth. As you grow in the God’s love, the pain will start to diminish. Best of all, you will come out the other side stronger. You will find more hope, more compassion. You will find yourself closer to the one who created you.
Today, if you find yourself in the middle of a trial, I bless you with ears to hear. Eyes to see, and a heart full of feeling the closeness of our amazing Savior. I bless you to see yourself the way HE sees you, and ask that in turn, you will see others the same way. I pray that you will have the courage and strength to be the best you!
Daniella Ross, is loved and adored by the most high God. She is blessed with a husband of 22 years and four amazing boys. A proud Air Force, college bound, high school and elementary mom. (all bases covered)
At the young age of 41, Daniella’s mother suffered a massive stroke, which sparked in her a passion for health and fitness. Since then, she has become an inspiration to many by leading fitness classes all over the Temecula Valley, in Southern California. Daniella competed in her first fitness competition at Muscle Beach, and took 4th place.
Daniella enjoys her quiet time with JESUS, the beach, play time with her family, date nights with hubby and, girls outings with friends (she needs these as she is in a house full of testosterone!)
She recently moved her mom into her home to care for her. Which is quite an adjustment for her and the family. Daniella has a heart to help others to be free and healthy in mind, body, and soul. Her vision is to have others experience freedom in Jesus. She hopes to help them reach levels they can only dream about.
