JOY TO THE WORLD!
The Lord is come…
We have been given a gift. When Jesus came down to the Earth, we were given a gift. The best gift ever! Salvation, hope, love, and life, all were gifted to us through his birth. And when he came down, so did joy.
Joy is something we often put in a box, but I’m calling it out of the box. I’m calling you, yes you, to take joy out of the box and let it shine. Joy is not meant to be kept inside, or only let out on certain occasions. Joy is not a feeling. Joy is a state of being. I can go on and on about this, and I am doing just that in a book I’m writing on joy, but that’s a much longer blog. 🙂
But for now, I’m calling it out! I’m calling joy out of the dark where it’s overshadowed by fear, worry, stress, and limited vision. I’m calling it into the forefront of my life, and yours!
Here’s the truth….The Lord never does anything without joy. He loves to bless his children and is always in a good mood. ALWAYS! No matter what you think is really happening in the heavenly realm, I can promise you that God is not sitting angrily on his throne shooting fire bombs at your life. No! God is so full of joy, it motivates everything. Jesus even went to the cross because of joy! I know, that’s a big bomb to drop and just keep going…But trust me, I’ll deal with that another time.
I picture the Lord getting the biggest kick out of how he’s working it all together. He sees it all. He knows the big picture. He loves to work it out for the good of his children! With this truth, I choose to partner with him in seeing the difficult situations, the waiting, and the unknowns in life as joyful and full of hope….fun even! Yea, I said it! FUN! God loves to have fun!!
Joy is radical. It’s not a weak position, in fact I argue that it’s the strongest position you can take. Joy is a place in which I choose to stand. It’s contrary to what the world says makes sense or is even practical, but I don’t care!
I’m called to be like my Lord and bring joy to the world.
So I live with my joy on full blast. It’s out and proud.
You can too. Take joy out of the dark and let it shine.
Go ahead, I dare you.
Joy to the world!
