Waiting for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit? It’s here!
My soul and spirit were in a drought condition for many years, similar to California’s drought season. My soul and spirit were dry; the colors were dull, growth would sprout, but soon die for lack of water. In “I Made a Choice“, I share my drought season.
That was in the past; let us run to the present.
This past fall and winter, California received an outpouring of rain. I welcomed the refreshing rain, the sight, the feel, and the smell. The rains brought breathtaking rainbows that are spectacular shows of light and water created by God, a promise of life. The abundance of rain watered the land; hillsides are covered with lush green grass with large patches of orange poppies, sprinkled with wild purple Canterbury bells, and little white baby’s breath flowers. The deserts are exploding with a variety of vibrant-colored wildflowers. A rainbow of breathtaking landscapes are feasts to the eyes.
In the book of Hosea, God gives a promise:
“Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Hosea 6:3 (NIV)
I will be like the dew to Israel;
he will blossom like a lily.
Like a cedar of Lebanon
he will send down his roots;
his young shoots will grow.
His splendor will be like an olive tree,
his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon.”
Hosea 14:5,6 (NIV)
I prayed, as many did, for more rain and for more outpouring of the Holy Spirit (revival) on the land. God opened the heavens and an outpouring of rain came to California. God ended the five-year drought. My spirit is whooping and hollering for the Lord! Appreciating what God did for us, Holy Spirit urged me to go walk amongst a field of wild flowers to be a part of the beauty, to have fun, to laugh, to be free. So one Saturday afternoon, my daughter and I found a field of wild orange poppies and enjoyed ourselves.
The Lord is healing the lands across the nations, not just naturally, but spiritually, bringing reconciliation, healing, freedom, and salvation to His children.
The Holy Spirit is moving and my spirit and soul are responding to His movement with anticipation and excitement. It is no longer dormant, dry, and dull of color; there is now vibrant life and an array of rainbow colors. He brings life, by walking with me, helping me to let go of whatever weighs me down. He brings growth, the desire and ability to learn new things: prophecy, healing. He restores what I have lost: creativity, worship, dance. He urges me to go deeper into His Word. When there is confusion, fear, anger, He brings understanding, forgiveness, and grace. He brings me back to my original design: peace, joy, laughter, love, fun. Here is the breathtaking beautiful landscape of vibrant wildflowers He invites me to walk amongst and we walk side by side, hand in hand.
Dear Reader, I bless your spirit and soul to be full of life with all the colors that make you, you. I bless you to walk amongst the field of breathtaking wildflowers that the Holy Spirit has waiting for you.
Walking amongst the wildflowers,
